Luna Lovegood Pudding

Since Leah's favorite character is Luna Lovegood, we had to make a Luna inspired treat. And everyone knows Luna loves PUDDING! But it couldn't be just any pudding it needed to be colorful, and quirky.

Ingredients:
     -2 Boxes Vanilla Instant Pudding
     -1 Box Strawberry Jello
     -4 Cups Cubed Poundcake
     -Cool Whip
     -Some Fancy Sprinkles
Directions:
-Prepare Vanilla Pudding according to the box.
-Add Jell-o mix before you let it set
Spread evenly across the bottom of your dish.
-Add cubed Poundcake around the edges.
-Decorate with Cool Whip and Sprinkles (we used gold edible glitter and pearls)

Our Vacation Jar

I have been trying to come up with ideas to keep Leah pumped about vacation! As I mentioned earlier she does not know the real date of our departure so a count down seamed kind of silly... But I finally decided on an activity Jar. Basically you fill a jar with ping pong balls, popsicle sticks, pieces of paper, or something else similar. I decided on pop sickle sticks. For a jar we used a Honeydukes Candy Jar from our last trip to Universal.
Ours previously housed Sherbet Lemons.
Now it is the home to almost 100 Harry Potter/Universal Orlando themed activities. Here are just a few.

1. Help the House Elves- these are little chores or baking activities.
     -Make Luna Pudding
     -Make Lightning bolt sandwiches
     -Make Chocolate Frogs
     -Make Lightning bolt cookies

2. Pack the Trunk- these are small packing steps.
     -Paint your Trunk
-Pick one toy to bring with you
-Pack a shirt in every house color
-Make house themed hair bows to pack

3. Accio Prize- these are small prizes for her to pack for vacation.
-Glow Stick bracelets for nights in the park.
     -Harry Potter T Shirt
     -Scabbers ($3 at ikea)

4. Homework- these are little list for her to make or videos to watch.
     - Write down 5 souvineers you want to buy.
     - Mark the rides your most excited about on a map.
     - Pick the 5 shows your most excited about.
     - Research dragons.
     - Make a list of who you want to bring back souvineers for.

5. Random
-Peliculum: make some magic with sparklers (Weasley's Wiz Bangs!

-Make Tip/Goodie Bags for exceptional park and hotel staff.

The Big Reveal!

So my husband and I decided we were going to surprise his 8 year old little sister by taking her to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for her Birthday in November . She may be the only 8 year old girl in the world that would pick Hogwarts, over   Cinderella's Castle. We decided to surprise her and tell her we are going... But we didn't tell her the right date, so later she will get yet another surprise when we tell her we are actually going on November 4th instead of December 20th!

For our grand surprise we wrote a letter from Luna Lovegood (her absolute favorite Harry Potter Character) and sent her on a bit of a scavenger hunt that ended at her big surprise, delivered by owl of course.
The trail leading to it is "galleons" (wizard money) we are going to give her more ways to earn some leading up to the trip, and once we get there she can redeem them for souvenirs.
We attached some tags to the balloons with cute little sayings like "accio vacation" and "Wingardium Leviosa."
When she opened the box more balloons and glitter flew out, along with her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter!
Check back soon for more details on the Hogwarts acceptance letter, and supply list.
It was so precious. She just kept touching the Hogwarts Crest like is this really happening!!!!
